Supported & Unsupported Estate Documents

We're excited to see users engage with our Will & Trust, Financial Power of Attorney, and Health Care Directives tools! These tools are designed to help review and summarize your clients' estate planning documents. While these tools expand your ability to provide comprehensive financial planning insights, there are some important details to note about which documents are supported:

Financial Power of Attorney & Health Care Directives Tools 

1. What documents are supported?
Incapacity planning documents, such as Financial Power of Attorney (POA), Medical Power of Attorney (POA), and Living Wills. 

2.  Can draft documents be submitted?
Yes, but the review output will be limited to what is available in the draft.

Please be aware that clients using state-adopted statutory forms generally do not indicate their intention to grant agent’s powers on draft documents.

3. Can I upload incapacity planning documents of non-household members? 
No, these are considered third-party estate planning documents and are not designed to be ingested under other households. 

4. Can documents for non-U.S. citizens drafted under foreign law be submitted?
No, Holistiplan's offer supports estate planning documents that are drafted under the laws of the states of the United States and the District of Columbia. 

Will & Trust Tool 

1. What documents are supported?
Generally, Wills, Living Trusts, and Inter vivos Irrevocable Trusts (during life) and documents that amend or modify their terms. Please see the table below.

Inter vivos Irrevocable Trusts (Full Trust or Decanted Trust) 

Decanted Trusts, Court Decrees, Settlement Agreements, Trustee Documents (Appointments, Resignations, Removals), Exercise of Powers (e.g., Trust Protector).  

Certificates of Trust, Nuptial Agreements/Decrees,  Living Trust Documents, Deeds, Court Accountings, Tax Returns.  

2.  Can draft documents be submitted?
Yes, but the review output will be limited to what is available in the draft.

3. Can I upload a Will, Living Trust, or Inter vivos Irrevocable Trust document created by non-household members? 
No, these are considered third-party estate planning documents and are not designed to be ingested under other households. 

An Inter vivos Irrevocable Trust is created during the lifetime of the trust maker (not a Living Trust that has now become Irrevocable).  

4. Can documents for non-U.S. citizens drafted under foreign law be submitted?
No, Holistiplan's offer supports estate planning documents that are drafted under the laws of the states of the United States and the District of Columbia.
