How Do I Edit My Households?

From the Household screen, you can change client information; the tax preparer; advisor; as well as adding, deleting, or moving returns to other households.

Home > Dashboard > [Client Household Name]

  • To change the name of the Household: Click on the pencil icon (circled in blue above) next to the large navy blue text. This will change what is shown on the Households page.
  • To add or change the state that your client resides in: Click on the pencil icon (circled in lime green above).
  • To add, change, or delete the tax preparer: Click on the pencil icon (circled in red above). You can select from existing preparers already entered, add a new preparer, or delete a preparer as an available option for your firm.
  • To change the advisor or team for a client: Click on the dropdown arrow (circled in teal above). This assigns client households to a specific advisor in your firm (or a team of advisors if your firm utilizes teams).

  • To add clients after uploading a return: Click on the "Create" button within the teal "Clients" bar (highlighted above). This will bring up a window to enter the new client information as seen below. Once the information has been entered, click the teal "Create Client" button to add the client to the existing household.

  • To delete a return: Click on the trash can icon (circled in red below) for the tax return you wish to delete.

NOTE: Deleting returns does not add uploads to your account.

  • If you accidentally uploaded a return into the wrong household: Click on the three dots (circled in blue above) on the far right of the return in question. Here, you'll be able to change the household to the appropriate one.

If your firm is on a Premium subscription:

You can create Standalone Scenarios for a client. This allows you to create scenarios for a client without having to upload a return. The steps to do that are below.
  1.  Type the name of the scenario in the blank as highlighted below and click on the blue "Create Scenario" button circled in blue.
  2. You'll then be able to click on the name of the scenario you've just created. This will open the Scenario Analysis screen where you can edit the newly created blank scenario.

You can also create and edit Tax Prep Letters from the Household screen as well. Firm Admins also have access to Customization Options Within the Tax Letter to edit firm-wide activity types, documents, and cost basis information.
