Credits for Solar Panels
Taxpayers who installed solar panels prior to 2026 may be eligible for the Residential Clean Energy credit, which is a nonrefundable credit.
The One Big Beautiful Bill ended eligibility for the Residential Energy Credit for the installation of solar panels on residential property in 2025, but those credits can still be entered in Holistiplan for pre-2026 scenarios. To do so, navigate to the Nonrefundable Credits section, clicking on the pencil icon in the Residential Energy Credit row, and entering the amount in the Residential Clean Energy Credit field:

While the credit for new installations expired in 2025, any unused Residential Clean Energy Credits from prior years can be carried forward to 2026. The Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (for the installation of new windows, doors, HVAC, etc.) cannot be carried forward though.
Both the Residential Clean Energy Credit and the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit can potentially reduce the amount of Child Tax Credit that is able to be claimed. See Schedule 8812 Credit Limit Worksheets A and B for more information.
