How to Identify Billable Households
If your firm uses household-based billing, you can add a Billable Household column to the All Households page to see which households count toward your current billing period - including both active and inactive households.
Please note that deleted households will not show in this list but can still be counted towards your billable count.
This column helps answer a simple question for each household:
“Does this household currently count toward our billable total?”
This information aligns with the billing totals shown under Firm Admin > Subscription. Click How is this calculated? to see the breakdown:

Add the Billable Household Column
- Open the All Households page.
- Click Column Setup.
- Enable Billable Household.
- Save your column layout if desired.
Understanding the Column Values

✔️ - Yes
The household is currently considered billable for the active billing period.
This can include households that:
- Are currently active for billing
- Were active earlier in the current billing period and later deactivated
Deactivating or deleting a household does not remove it from the current billing period’s count.
No
The household is not considered billable for the current billing period.
For example:
- The household was never activated during the current billing period
- Any qualifying activity occurred outside the current billing period
Filter the Household List
Once the Billable Household column is visible, you can filter the list by:
- True (billable households)
- False (non-billable households)
Use the filter menu in the column header to apply or clear filters.
This can help you quickly identify:
- All households currently counted toward billing, aside from deleted households
- Households that are not impacting the current billing period
Exporting Billable Household Data
CSV exports of the household list may include the Billable Household column.
This can be helpful for:
- Internal billing reviews
- Audits
- Sharing information with billing contacts
- Charging back clients/advisors for usage
How This Relates to Your Invoice
Household-based billing is calculated using usage during the current subscription period.
