Updating Your SSO Certificate in Holistiplan

Overview

When your SSO (Single Sign-On) certificate is due for renewal, the process to update it in Holistiplan is fully self-serve. The update takes less than a minute and can be completed directly by a firm admin.

If you’d like support to review or confirm your update, you’re always welcome to contact us at support@holistiplan.com — but this step is optional.

Who Can Perform This Update

Only firm admins in Holistiplan have access to edit SSO settings and update the certificate.

Steps to Update Your SSO Certificate

  1. Log in to your Holistiplan account.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Security Settings.

  3. Under SSO Settings (it may say Okta settings or Entra Settings dependent on IDP), click Edit.

  4. Either:

    • Import from XML new metadata, or

    • Replace the MD5 certificate directly in the certificate field.

  5. Click Submit to save your changes.

Your changes will take effect immediately — there’s no downtime or approval delay.

Best Practices

  • Confirm with your IT team that your identity provider (IdP) configuration matches the new certificate before submitting.

  • Keep a copy of your previous certificate for reference in case you need to roll back.

  • Notify your users that an SSO update occurred if you anticipate any sign-in changes.
