What is the Households Page?

The Households page is where you'll see all of your clients, and their important information, in one place. Households are the first thing that should be explored before doing anything else in Holistiplan.

This section is where you will be able to add your clients to the software. It will ask for your client's name, date of birth and give you an area to add their tax return. The more information included, the more accurately the software will be able to work with some features.

On the main Households page, you'll see a list of your clients and some important information about them summarized for you. You can search for households by name, but you'll also be able to see and sort clients by:

  • Age
  • State
  • AGI
  • Marginal Bracket
  • Carryforward Loss
  • Tax Returns (showing the the year of each return in the system for that household)
  • Age Milestones — Here you'll see indicators of active and imminent age-related milestones such as qualified charitable distributions (QCD), and required minimum distributions (RMDs). You can hover over those milestone buttons to get quick bites of additional info.
  • Unit
  • Subsidiary
  • Upload Return (button to upload a return into a specific household vs. clicking the "Upload Return" button at the top of the Household screen and then selecting the household)
  • Tax Preparer
  • Advisor

By clicking on the Column Setup link on the right-hand side of the screen, you can add, remove, and reorder the items in the bullet point list above.

Here's a clip of a recent Office Hours webinar where Ben Birken, our VP of Client Success and Engagement, explains the Household page and all of its features.
