Blank Columns on the All Households Screen

Every January, the columns labeled AGI, Marginal Bracket, and Carryforward Loss will be blank until a return for the most recently completed tax year has been uploaded. There are other columns that will populate previous year information, though!

For example, in early 2026, these columns on the All Households page will display a dash until a user has uploaded a 2025 tax return. If a user uploads a 2024 return, the columns will still indicate a "-", as shown below: 

Holistiplan errs on the side of caution, making sure that actions taken based on these fields reflect the most recent information. 

Some advisors may not have the most recently completed tax year's return for some time, and knowing a ballpark AGI and/or Marginal Bracket could still be helpful. For that reason, we added 4 additional fields that users can add to the All Households page to have previous year information populate:

  • Last Year on File
  • AGI Last Year on File
  • Marginal Bracket Last Year on File
  • Carryforward Loss Last Year on File

To add these columns, click on the Column Setup link on the right side of the All Households page.

Once added, these fields will indicate the labeled information for the last year that Holistiplan has on file. For example, if a user uploaded a client's 2020 tax return and hasn't uploaded anything since, the "Last Year on File" columns will reflect data from the 2020 return.
