Merging Subscriptions (Firm Merge)

Consolidate multiple Holistiplan accounts into one

We can perform what we call a "Firm Merge," which moves all household and user information from one subscription to the next

A minimum of 10 households are required to proceed with a firm merge.

The first step is to contact our Support Team at support@holistiplan.com, providing the following details:

  • The firm names and firm admins for each subscription involved in the merge.

  • The name of the “parent” subscription. This is the account that will house the newly merged households and users. It's also typically the acquiring firm or the firm on the higher Holistiplan plan.

  • An estimated timeline for the merge. Please note that we require at least one week’s notice to complete the process.

Our team receives this information and a DocuSign consent form will be sent to each firm admin to review and sign, approving the merge.

After both signatures are received and we have confirmation that the merge has been completed successfully, our team will cancel the subscription that transferred its households and users into the parent account to prevent any future renewal charges.

Partial Merge

A partial merge allows Holistiplan Support to transfer select households and/or advisors to another Holistiplan account.

This process follows the same steps as a standard firm merger, with a few additional requirements:

  • The firm admin from the acquired firm must first create a Subsidiary that includes all households to be moved to the new subscription. Let us know the name of this subsidiary, as it is required to complete the merge.

  • Also, if only certain users, rather than all users, need to be transferred, the firm admin will need to create an Advisor Unit and add the desired advisors to that unit. We would also require the name of this Unit to proceed with the partial merge.

Merge FAQs

What is the lead time required for Holistiplan to complete a firm merge?
Holistiplan typically requires a one-week timeframe for this process, though firm merges can often be completed sooner. However, we do require signed consent from a Firm Admin on both accounts before proceeding. We strongly recommend contacting support@holistiplan.com in advance of your anticipated merge date to ensure a smooth process.

What documentation or information is needed from the outside firm?
Holistiplan requires a signed merge authorization form from both parties. Please note that merges are final, so all information must be reviewed and confirmed before submission.

Once execution begins, how long does the process take?
Once all required information and documentation have been received, the merge process typically takes only a few minutes to complete.

Who should we work with during the transition?
All merge requests and related questions should be directed to Holistiplan’s Support team, support@holistiplan.com.

Will any data be lost during the merge?
No, all data will be retained. The only change is that users from the acquired firm will no longer retain Firm Admin status after the merge. No data in the parent firm will be affected.

Will login information change after the merge?
Login credentials will remain the same. If email addresses need to be updated due to the acquisition, a Firm Admin must manually make those changes after the merge.
