In August 2022, we started a slow rollout of Version 2 of Scenario Analysis and fully transitioned to this new version on September 6, 2022. This article discusses the most important changes and awesome new features.
The primary change of the V2 Scenario Analysis was a "look and feel" update. We didn't change any of the underlying functionality or calculations, and you still have every scenario you built in Version 1.
But there are a few new things, and some familiar features have new homes.
1. Range Calc, Solve for Max and Tax Report no longer have separate buttons. Instead, you can select these options by clicking the ellipsis (3 dots) in the column header for any scenario.
2. Easily add a new scenario by clicking the blue "Add a Scenario Button."
3. Unlike Version 1 - which limited the on-screen real estate to just four scenarios - Version 2 allows you to have as many scenarios on screen as you like. If all your scenarios won't fit on screen at once, you can find them by paging left and right using the controls at the top. You can also reorder your scenarios with our new drag and drop organizer.
Note that while you can have more than four scenarios within Scenario Analysis, you'll still only be able to print the first four columns.
4. The Scenario Bank has a new home on the left-hand side of the page. The bank works just like it did previously, but it looks different. Use it tuck scenarios away if you aren't using them (but don't want to totally delete them).
5. Jump between sections using the white dots on the vertical blue bar to quickly scroll to any section on the page.
6. Compare two scenarios using the comparison tool. Hover over the column header in between the scenarios you wish to compare and a small green triangle will appear.
Clicking on triangle will expand a new intermediary column that quantifies the change in any row that has different information between the two scenarios.
The change column will count as one of the four available rows when attempting to print out of Scenario Analysis.
